Main Responsibilities:
a) Optimizes the supply chain to meet customer demands and safety stock targets. Develops the processes and procedures needed to support a robust material flow, including such things as: inventory replenishment systems, Kanban, etc.
b) Develops strategies to ensure optimal order fulfillment and risk mitigation controls to reduce supply chain constraints.
c) Directs purchasing management activities to ensure that the overall value of purchased material is assessed by balancing time, quality, delivery, and price.
d) Ensures the supply of raw materials and determines short- and long-term needs to maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and customer requirements. Manages vendors and suppliers to maximize working capital, inventory, quality, and delivery.
e) Leads the logistics and import/export team to ensure they have proper controls and procedures in place to fully comply with U.S., Mexican and International customs rules and regulations, while maintaining the uninterrupted flow of goods across borders.
f) Formulates, negotiates, and manages material organization goals and budgets, as well as strategies and action plans to achieve those goals. Validates and authorizes standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Materials function.
g) Participation and leadership for the procurement and materials configuration element of new product development projects.
h) Responsible for compliance with all regulatory requirements for the Materials Department, including but not limited to QSR, ISO, MDD, Global Trade, etc.
i) Develops strategies and implements specific quality and process improvements, as well as cost reduction projects. He actively engages with the management team to develop and implement strategic, cultural, and operational initiatives.

Requirements:

Experience:
a) 6+ years experience in Materials Management. In-depth knowledge of materials management, inventory control, demand planning, procurement, and logistics.
b) Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems: SAP
c) Experience with Lean Manufacturing or CI methodologies.
d) Proven track record of implementing supply chain optimization strategies and driving measurable improvements in complex supplier networks and global supply chains.

Education/Certifications:
a) Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field.
b) APICS Certified preferred.
Soft Skills:
a) Leadership and Strategic thinking, team player & ability to influence without authority
b) Financial & business acumen
Language: Fluent Spanish & English
