Job Summary

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, achieving targets, and managing all sales activities within a designated geographical area for Becton Dickinson India. This role involves leading a team, developing strategic sales plans, and fostering strong customer relationships to expand market share and contribute to the company's overall success.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies and plans to achieve and exceed sales targets and objectives for the assigned territory.
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales representatives, providing guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure optimal team performance.
Identify new business opportunities, cultivate new accounts, and expand the customer base within the healthcare and life sciences sectors.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key customers, distributors, and healthcare professionals.
Conduct regular market analysis, competitor monitoring, and provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and product opportunities.
Manage sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product management, and customer service teams to ensure seamless customer experience and product delivery.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, as well as relevant industry regulations.
Represent BD India at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote products and services.
Effectively manage territory expenses and resources to optimize profitability.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in sales role within the healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry.
Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing sales teams.
Strong understanding of the Indian healthcare market, including distribution channels and key stakeholders.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and develop strategic action plans.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
