The Team:
The GTMO Business Control group is a team of 13 employees split across both our Bromley and Chester locations. The team work together to drive risk awareness, adherence and transparency across the broader GTMO group in region and partner with our global Business Control team mates to drive consistency in risk management.
Role Description:
This job is responsible for driving and executing on internal control discipline and operational excellence within a Line of Business (LOB) or Enterprise Control Function (ECF). Key responsibilities include providing analytical and administrative support for LOB or ECF specific processes and tools to drive adherence to enterprise-wide standards. Job expectations include monitoring and testing controls and implementing quality assurance and quality control processes within the LOB or ECF by evaluating data to help identify, track, and report issues and control improvements for remediation.
We are seeking a highly motivated EMEA GTMO Business Control Specialist to join our Chester based Global Operations organization. This role will give you the opportunity to exercise your understanding and management of risk in line with the Banks risk framework, standards & policies. The successful person will be comfortable in investigating the status quo and driving practices that identify gaps within the operations that create exposure to risk. They will partner with the global business control team as well as with the regional senior leadership team to ensure consistency of execution across Global Banking Operations for all risk activities.
Responsibilities:
• Management of all audit issues (SII, AII) and targeted risk assessments
• Coordination of activities/responses for Corporate Audits & GCOR assessments
• Management and governance for operational loss events
• Delivery of the regional Business Control Forum
• Execution and governance of the Single Process Inventory
• Governance of system access controls
• Governance of adherence to Laws, Rules & Regulations
What we are looking for:
• Someone who understanding of the Banks Risk Framework and management
• You will have the ability to bring multiple stakeholders together, directly address issues to reach consensus and decisions
• Proven ability to lead and consult both vertically and horizontally with senior management and key partners
• Superior organizational skills, attention to detail and act with a sense of urgency
• Self-starter able to work independently and prioritise effectively with minimal oversight and guidance
