Job Description:

This job is responsible for maximizing the value for one or more products. Key responsibilities include working with stakeholders to understand their needs, and with product owners or specialists to ensure they are aligning on priorities. Job expectations include ensuring delivery of products that meet client expectations, including features, security, availability, resiliency, timelines and costs.

Position Summary:

Responsible for defining the vision, strategy, roadmap, and prioritized backlog for Internal Cloud Platform Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings, including Tanzu and Kubernetes container platform services. Accountable for balancing business demand, application modernization priorities, platform strategy, engineering capacity, operational stability, security requirements, and developer experience objectives to maximize platform value, adoption, and business outcomes. Owns product decisions, prioritization tradeoffs, roadmap communication, service lifecycle management, and adoption strategies for enterprise container platform capabilities supporting CTI Big Rock 1 objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Generates the vision and roadmap for the program based on customer requirements, industry trends, regulations, and the strategic direction for the business or technology domain
  • Communicates the program vision and roadmap to stakeholders, product owners and the teams
  • Oversees the budget(s) for one or more products by working closely with finance partners on both personnel and non-personnel expenses
  • Provides input into defining business capabilities and aligning them to products or creating new products to support them
  • Ensures product availability by partnering closely with demand and capacity teammates
  • Develops business cases for new products and additional features for existing products
  • Partners with the product owners and the teams to ensure that optimum value is obtained through technology and subject-matter expertise and understanding of the business and industry trends
  • Responsible for defining the vision, strategy, roadmap, and prioritized backlog for Internal Cloud Platform Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings, including Tanzu and Kubernetes container platform services.
  • Accountable for balancing business demand, application modernization priorities, platform strategy, engineering capacity, operational stability, security requirements, and developer experience objectives to maximize platform value, adoption, and business outcomes.
  • Owns product decisions, prioritization tradeoffs, roadmap communication, service lifecycle management, and adoption strategies for enterprise container platform capabilities supporting CTI Big Rock 1 objectives.
  • Task-level responsibilities include backlog grooming, roadmap planning, stakeholder alignment, requirements definition, service adoption management, platform capability prioritization, consumption analysis, customer feedback integration, product lifecycle governance, and coordination of delivery milestones across engineering, architecture, operations, security, and application development teams.
  • Partners with platform engineering organizations to continuously improve developer experience, self-service capabilities, automation, resiliency, observability, and modernization outcomes enabled through Tanzu and Kubernetes platform services.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of experience owning product roadmaps and backlogs for cloud platforms, Platform-as-a-Service offerings, developer platforms, or shared technology services.
  • Prior hands-on experience as a Product Manager, Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Solution Architect, Software Engineer, or related technical role supporting enterprise Platform-as-a-Service or container platform technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing, engineering, architecting, or operating Kubernetes-based platforms or enterprise Platform-as-a-Service offerings within a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes ecosystems, container orchestration technologies, and modern application hosting models.
  • Hands-on experience using Jira, Agile methodologies, backlog management practices, and roadmap planning tools.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations, prioritize competing demands, and make product trade-off decisions.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, architecture, security, and operations organizations to deliver enterprise platform capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate product strategy and roadmap priorities to executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience defining product success metrics, adoption targets, consumption models, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple engineering and operational organizations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • CSPO, SAFe Product Manager/Product Owner Certification, or equivalent Product Management certification.
  • 5-7+ years of experience managing cloud, infrastructure, platform engineering, or Platform-as-a-Service products.
  • Direct experience with VMware Tanzu Platform and Kubernetes-based application platforms.
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Rancher, or comparable enterprise container platform technologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise application modernization, cloud transformation, developer platform, or platform engineering initiatives.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), GitOps practices, observability platforms, and cloud automation frameworks.
  • Experience with platform governance, demand management, funding models, service lifecycle management, and service adoption reporting.
  • Experience operating within regulated enterprise environments with strong governance, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated success increasing platform adoption, developer self-service capabilities, and customer satisfaction for shared technology platforms.

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$135,000.00 - $217,100.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
