About GPS Global Corporate Banking

GPS Global Corporate Banking (GPS CBK) clients generally include large Multi-National Corporations across North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East. In Australia our Corporate Banking clients include both Australian subsidiaries of large Multi-National Corporations as well as large Australian Multi-National Corporations operating globally.

Our client coverage model and close partnerships with other businesses in Global Banking & Global Markets enable our client teams to seamlessly deliver all the company's capabilities as integrated solutions.

The Role

The Head of Corporate Sales, Australia is a critical role and will be instrumental in managing an existing portfolio of clients but also in expanding the Bank's reach and market penetration. Additionally, the Head of Australia Corporate Sales must be well versed in Treasury Product Solutions with a deep appreciation of economic trends to assist in the assessment of new solution sets.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Regional Head, the Head of Corporate Sales, Australia leads the Australia Global Payments Solutions team covering Globally, Regionally and Domestically Headquartered Corporates at a time of tremendous opportunity and change. These clients are innovative, moving quickly in adopting new products, acclimating to extensive technology trends, and our team needs to provide thought leadership and advice to clients on tailored solutions in this changing landscape.

The Head of Corporate Sales in Australia is responsible for coordinating and directing treasury management sales activities including development of new business and the expansion of existing business with responsible growth as the key strategic consideration.

  • Responsible for the development of sales strategy for domestic corporates and aligning with globally and regional strategies across US and APAC Headquartered Corporates to maximize growth within risk parameters and optimize relationship profitability, executing upon it, and delivering integrated treasury solutions to Global Corporate Banking and GPS Managed clients.
  • Partner closely with Corporate Bankers, Regional and Global GPS Colleagues and other business partners (as appropriate) to consult on sales opportunities and provide the product expertise and consultation necessary to deliver the best possible Treasury and Trade solutions to the client in-country or regionally.
  • Partner with GPS Product Teams, Regional Heads, Markets, Investment Banking, Corporate Bankers and Risk and Operations teams locally and regionally to structure and deliver client solutions.
  • Manage and support RFP processes as relates to specialist products (Deal Review, Pricing, RFP response coordination).
  • Resource and performance management including hiring, setting team and individual goals, performance management, compensation input and other HR related matters.
  • Represent the bank at internal and industry events on area of expertise and select industry gatherings around the globe.

Required Skills / Personal Attributes:

  • 15+ years of experience in serving and selling sophisticated treasury solutions to corporate clients with a track record in developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships.
  • excellent business, commercial and origination skills with a strategic mindset to create and advance global treasury solutions with clients.
  • Ability to navigate rapidly changing competitive and technological landscape.
  • Executive presence both internally/externally. In depth knowledge of the changing landscape of global payments
  • Culture carrier and compassionate team leader with high emotional intelligence and a collaborative mindset that fosters collaboration and creativity among team members and wider local Product and Operational teams.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
