Location Overview:

The Team :

A high performing global team operating out of US, EMEA and APAC.

The EMEA team negotiates agreements across the full range of Traded products, dealing with a wide range of external customers and internal stakeholders.

Role Description:

Responsible for drafting, negotiating, and executing various master trading clearing documentation in support of the Bank of America's Prime Services, Exchange Traded Derivatives, and OTC Clearing businesses. Negotiation of master trading documentation for the firm's Markets business. Operating in line with the Bank's risk policies, negotiation guides and escalation matrices. The Bank offers market access to exchanges around the world to its global client base.

Responsibilities:

Focus will be on serving UK and European clients through Merrill Lynch International and our local European subsidiary based in Paris, BofA Securities Europe SA.

As part of the EMEA Agreements and Documentation team you will be client facing, acting as the intermediary between the internal stakeholders (legal, credit, tax and risk teams) to incorporate the client's particular requirements, working in line with the Bank's risk appetite, into customized trading documentation.

The Bank uses the FIA Terms of Business as well as the ISDA Master Agreement and OTC addendum. The Terms of Business provide a modular structure allowing document to document customized client relationships, including adding bespoke netting provisions based on recommendations from the industry netting opinions. The English terms have been drafted with a principal-to-principal clearing model in mind but there may be opportunities to negotiate US clearing documentation using the US FCM agency clearing model. The negotiator will be requested to attend sales pitches to clients for clearing. Assist in regulatory projects and the wider trading agreement negotiation process, although the focus is very much on supporting the clearing desk's business

What we are looking for:

A qualified Lawyer with previous experience of Futures and Clearing.

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Skills that will help:

Highly self-motivated and ability to prioritise/drive for execution.

Ability to exercise judgment within defined parameters.
