Job Description:

This job is responsible for consulting on corporate business continuity topics with clients. Key responsibilities include recommending and implementing solutions that protect the bank's assets and participating or leading business continuity initiatives and ongoing process activities (i.e., scenario analysis, plan development, testing, event management, and progress reporting/measurement).Job expectations include providing subject matter consulting support in audit and regulatory matters as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts current-state risk-based assessments to develop business continuity management strategies and monitors the effectiveness following the implementation of the plan
  • Evaluates the performance of plans, processes, and programs at assigned organizational level, while assessing progress towards identified objectives
  • Implements, monitors, and modifies procedures for the effective response to incidents and the continuance of critical business services, based on testing and exercises of plans or actual events
  • Supports testing of business continuity plans to assess readiness, identify deficiencies, and promote enhancements
  • Identifies, validates, and escalates gaps in business continuity readiness to senior management and second line partners
  • This role is responsible for supporting the end-to-end Business Recovery Planning and Testing processes and driving overall operational resiliency for a portfolio of business functions within Global Operations.
  • Work closely with function teams and the function owner to complete deliverables and collaborate with other GO GBRCs to ensure deliverable consistency and quality
  • Directly update deliverables in the business continuity systems of record, including Continuity Planning Tool (CPT) and Third Party Exit Strategy (TPES) planning tool
  • Interact with senior leaders and engage/influence business partners across the defined portfolio
  • Build and maintenance of the following deliverables for the GBRC's portfolio of business functions:
  • Business Impact Analysis (BIA) - functional risk assessment to determine the function's Recovery Time Objective (RTO). Also includes identification of the function's application, third party, and other function dependencies
  • Business Recovery Plan (BRP) - recovery strategies and tasks for recovery of the function; includes recovery for physical location disruption, dependency disruption (application, third party, and other function), and employee unavailability (e.g., pandemic)
  • Business Recovery Function-Location Testing - the GBRC will write test scripts and expected results and oversee test execution by function teams
  • Third Party Exit Strategy Plans - detailed exit plans for third party permanent disruption
  • Third Party Exit Strategy Plan Testing - tabletop testing to exit plans to confirm plan viability
  • The GBRC will have opportunities to participate in or run projects from time-to-time based on availability, project topic knowledge, and career interests.


  • Required Skills
  • Minimum 2 years Business Continuity or Business Support experience
  • Ability to work independently with a bias for action
  • Capability to learn fast and demonstrate critical thinking
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Comfortable guiding the business through key business continuity deliverables and confidence to influence the development of robust, executable business recovery strategies
  • Ability to build strong relationships with business function owners and become trusted advisor on resiliency and business continuity topics
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$71,200.00 - $103,100.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
