Location Overview:

The Team:

The role will sit within the Global Fixed Income Legal team. The team works closely with colleagues in Equities, Credit and the Commodities globally on BAU issues and as well as large-scale global projects. Cumulatively the team has a vast amount of experience and are well placed to provide ongoing support and training and the role also offers opportunity to participate in several industry projects and initiatives. The BofA Legal Department offers comprehensive programs and opportunities related to career development and mentoring.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice from a regulatory, documentation and implementation perspective with respect to digital assets including advising on regulatory development with respect to digital assets as well as transactions and strategy.
  • Provide legal advice to the businesses engaged in structured fixed income derivatives (e.g. TRS, RPS and CDS) and repo, and repo clearing.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel and the business with respect to upkeep of template documentation and bank regulatory and internal requirements in respect of fixed income derivatives and repo.
  • Analyze legal issues and implications on products, services, and regulatory matters related to the Global Markets businesses.
  • Drafts, reviews, and/or negotiates complex legal documents bespoke derivatives and repo agreements and legal opinions.
  • Supports company responses to government agency examinations and investigations, enforcement actions, private complaints, and litigation.
  • Directs the work of outside legal counsel and may coordinate the work of other Legal staff such as Paralegals and trains, mentors, or supports the development of peers.

What we are looking for:

  • Attorney must be licensed to practice in the appropriate jurisdiction(s).
  • Should have experience or interest in digital assets.
  • Should have experience in advising on structured derivatives, repo transactions and related regulations.
  • An excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting is a key requirement.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, and to adapt to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong experience at major law firm, bank, or similar institutional experience.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter, quick learner and must be able to work independently and proactively.
  • Candidate should be someone who can handle multiple complex assignments and navigate a large institution.
