Job Description:
This position is accountable for monitoring and providing first line support for all batch cycles, providing correct fixes to production job abends that occur in the processing of the daily batch cycle, as well as managing work requests as and when received in Bank of America (include Global Wholesale, Retail and Investment Banking Applications hosted on mainframes). You will engage applications support teams to gauge risk assessment and minimize potential company exposure. The fixes should be applied in a timely and safe manner, so as to meet documented SLA's regarding the completion of the batch work. Receive and communicate turnover instructions through a review of all outstanding jobs with the departing and arriving shift. Initiate solution attempts for all jobs whose resolution is pending. Discuss problems and issues encountered during the shift including root cause analysis and applied fixes. Follow appropriate escalation procedures, SLA's, and policies regarding management notification.

Responsibilities:
Ensure all general policies and best practices are adhered to. The successful candidate must be a team player, and must have good communication skills as the role will involve engaging with support teams on a regular basis. We are also constantly striving for ways to improve on our performance and delivery of our batch cycle, the candidate should be forward thinking and willing to put ideas forward.
Required Skills:
- In depth understanding of IBM Mainframe batch scheduling tools (CA7 or OPC/TWS).
- Strong IBM Mainframe (MVS) experience JCL, TSO, NDM / Connect Direct, Batch Job Break Fix experience.
Desired Skills:
- Have a flexible and 'can do' attitude and a strong sense of initiative with the ability to learn fast and deal calmly with situations under pressure.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of BMC Remedy or IT Service Management Tool.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools like WebGUI/TBSM
- An understanding of ITIL and Agile Methodology would be beneficial.
- Creates and enhances technical procedures and work instructions
- Demonstrates ability to perform data analysis underpinning outcomes and recommendations
