Job Description:
Responsible for capturing and refining business and/or system requirements (based on specialization). Works with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyze problems, and capture their requirements, and then working closely with the Development Team to refine the requirement into specifications that can be executed by the team. Possess a working knowledge of the business and/or technical domain based on their specialization. Leverages experience and understanding of stakeholder needs to help create a solution, envisions the solution to solve a problem (manual or through software). Performs Cost/Benefit Analysis to align the technology to business strategy. Gathers & catalogs functional, non-functional, and technical requirements for stakeholder requests. Determines the impact of modifications and enhancements on the application. Acts as the product(s) subject matter expert to support scope and requirement decisions. Ensures changes to the application are compliant with bank standards and policies. Assists users and development team with application testing and troubleshooting, and may help configure test solutions to validate functional and system needs. Identifies, document and troubleshoot application related problems. Documents process, procedures and workflows associated with applications. Leads or participate in continuous improvement efforts; Building expertise in creating, analyzing, and improving processes. Creates, maintains and presents training materials for end-users. Individual contributor.
Position Summary:
This position is for an experienced Business Analyst on tech side with a minimum of 7+ years in technology projects, who will act as the primary interface with business partners, stake holders, solution architects, and cross-organizational technology teams. The Analyst will analyze current processes and systems, assessing the business model and its integration with technology. The Analyst is responsible for working with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyze problems, and elicit requirements/stories from a business team. Also gather and apply technical knowledge in use cases, process models, technical requirements, acceptance criteria and more into JIRA Epics & Stories, spikes and asks that can be executed by the team. Working closely with the Development Team to refine and estimate the story requirements. The Analyst will be part of an Agile Scrum team, collaborating with the Product Owner(s) to evaluate, the Features, write effective user stories, document business rules and with the Developers to review technical design, identify enablers and dependencies. The resource must be able to be able to act as the communication hub between tech teams and business partners/product owners.
Required Qualifications:
- Bank of America, Wealth domain experience required.
- Must have excellent analytical skills and at least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, working closely with business partners to elicit requirements, document process flows, identify risks and mitigation and participate in definition of strategies for the technical solution.
- Experience documenting detailed functional and technical requirements for business requirements in JIRA as any Issue Type.
- Ability to communicate and work with developers to ensure that acceptance criteria for the user stories are understood and applied.
- Provides support to Testing to clarify requirements, to ensure that test plans and scripts satisfy the requirements and determine whether a defect is a new requirement, or truly a defect.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to facilitate discussions, conduct presentations and deliver technical requirements.
- Self-motivated with 'growth mindset' and requires minimal supervision.
- Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to analyze existing capabilities and identify gaps and opportunities.
- Working knowledge of agile tools such as JIRA/Confluence and Jira align is a plus.
- Knowledge of project managements principles, practices, techniques and tools (Waterfall & Agile).
- Must have technology project background and understand full SDLC.
- Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on areas of responsibility.
- Strong team player with superior time management skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prepare graphics, workflows and illustrations to elaborate on or complement technical design writing.
- Must be an intermediate level or above user of Office suite including Visio.
- Prior BofA Experience preferred.
- Must have change Management exposure and willingness to learn & comply with Bank's Enterprise Change Management and Release Management processes.

Pay and benefits information
Pay range
$89,000.00 - $151,600.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
Discretionary incentive eligible
This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
