Job Description

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Manager, Online Trading to drive the performance and customer experience of our online stores. Based in our Dublin office, this person will own day-to-day site management, with a strong focus on developing and implementing site merchandising strategies, optimizing product presentation, site content planning, and optimization of the online store shopper funnel in a way that inspires, educates, and drives conversion.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a global, data-informed environment and wants to lead high-impact initiatives while managing and mentoring a small, talented team of site merchandisers based in Manila. You’ll bring your deep site merchandising and digital operations experience, preferably from working with or at global retailers, and help elevate our customer experience across multiple markets and seasons.

This full-time position reports to the VP of eCommerce and is located in Dublin, Ireland. This role is expected to work in a hybrid model, which includes three days in-office. This role will require occasional travel to the US and/or Philippines, including a 3-4 week onboarding period in Balsam’s Redwood City, CA headquarters.

To ensure sufficient overlap with functional and cross-functional team members globally, some flexibility with this role's regular work schedule will be required. Most of our teams have overlap with early morning and/or early evening PST. Specific scheduling needs for this role will be discussed in the initial interview.

What you’ll do:

Site Experience & Merchandising

  • Lead and execute the end-to-end site merchandising strategy across multiple Balsam Hill ecommerce sites, ensuring alignment with business priorities, product launches, and promotional campaigns.
  • Own and optimize category page layouts, product detail pages (PDPs), navigation, search, filtering, and cross-sell strategies to drive conversion and engagement.
  • Partner with Creative, Product Merchandising, and Marketing teams to ensure content and storytelling aligns with seasonal themes, campaign goals, and brand tone.

Operations & Execution

  • Manage the site production calendar to ensure timely updates for new products, campaigns, and seasonal content.
  • Lead the QA process for site updates and functionality across devices and regions, ensuring accuracy and seamless customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with Tech/Product/UIUX teams on site improvements and platform enhancements.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor a team of 1–2 site merchandisers based in Manila, supporting their growth and enabling high-quality execution at scale.
  • Build clear processes and documentation to drive efficiency and consistency across time zones.
  • Foster a culture of ownership and initiative, empowering the team to contribute their best

Analytics & Optimization

  • Monitor site performance using tools like Google Analytics, heatmaps, and A/B testing platforms, identifying opportunities to improve conversion rates, reduce bounce, and elevate engagement.
  • Track KPIs and generate insights to inform optimization decisions, report to stakeholders, and drive strategic improvements.
  • Present findings to the Executive Team and cross functional stakeholders, crafting the overarching story from various data points, combined with industry experience to influence cross functional decision making
  • Use data & analytics to understand customer purchase patterns and friction points, and leverage these insights to tailor site content and shopper journey

What you bring to the table:

  • 11+ years of experience in Site Merchandising, Online Trading, or similar, with deep site experience expertise; at least 2 years managing people or leading teams.
  • Background working in or with global retail or DTC brands, managing multiple markets and product assortments.
  • Strong presenter who can confidently tell a story through analytics & performance data, communicating clearly and with an ability to influence across functions and various levels
  • Proven ability to execute site updates, QA changes, and troubleshoot issues across ecommerce technology tools (CMS, Personalization, Search & Browse, etc)
  • A customer-centric mindset with an eye for detail, usability, and visual presentation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple timelines and stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and energized by delivering joyful digital experiences.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Merchandising, Economics, General Business Management or equivalent
