Job Description

As Account Executive, B2B Sales, you will drive new business growth for Balsam Hill by selling premium holiday décor packages to interior designers, event planners, and other design professionals who craft seasonal experiences for their clients. This is a hunter role, ideal for a self-starter with deep connections in the design world, who thrives without a set playbook and is passionate about premium product storytelling.

This is a relationship-driven sales role focused on building trust, understanding client needs, and delivering tailored solutions aligned with the brand objectives. The Account Executive will play a hand in evolving the product assortment by sharing client feedback and work closely with the Customer Success team to ensure a seamless customer experience.

As a brand ambassador for Balsam Hill, the Account Executive will lead engagement with key design industry associations to enhance the company’s presence and position Balsam Hill as the preferred partner for design professionals.  Additionally, the Account Executive will play an integral role in establishing a nationwide network of designers and decorators who may be contracted to support holiday installations.

This full-time remote position reports to the Director of Customer Engagement, B2B, and requires the candidate to be based near a major metropolitan area such as New York City, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, or Los Angeles.

What you’ll do:

  • New Business Acquisition: Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, selling to interior designers, event planners, and similar professionals, and independently managing a national territory
  • Designer Network Development (Secondary Focus): Identify, recruit, and build relationships with a network of designers and decorators across the country who can support holiday installations for high-end clients
  • Event & Industry Representation: Represent Balsam Hill at industry events, trade shows, and conferences (e.g., ASID Gather), enhancing brand visibility and building strong industry partnerships
  • ABM and Prospecting: Work in partnership with the marketing team to leverage ABM strategy, buyer intent tools, and social media to engage high-potential clients
  • Sales Collateral: Collaborate with internal teams to develop persuasive sales tools and presentations tailored to design industry prospect
  • CRM and Technology: Use HubSpot for pipeline management, ZoomInfo for lead insights, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator for social selling
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Track KPIs and sales performance, adjusting strategies to stay aligned with business growth goals

What you bring to the table:

  • 5+ years in B2B sales with experience in the Interior Design, Event Planning, or adjacent design industries
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related design field
  • Demonstrated success in new business acquisition and territory development, preferably in design-related B2B sales
  • An eye for design and a genuine passion for aesthetics, with the ability to connect with creative professionals and speak their language
  • Highly motivated self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and knows how to build from scratch
  • Proficient with HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other sales tools; understands how to use social media for prospecting and brand building
  • Able to craft compelling presentations and messages that inspire designers and align with their aesthetic values
  • Willingness to travel up to 30–40% for client meetings, trade shows, and events

Travel for remote team members: At Balsam Brands, we believe that time spent together, in-person, collaborating and building relationships is important to who we are. For our newest remote Brandits, we will arrange travel to one of our local offices within your first three months of employment so you can meet and train with your new team in-person. You may also get to travel an additional 1 – 2 times a year for events such as team retreats, offsites, or learning and development opportunities.

The base pay range for this position is: $110,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on experience. Year 1 On-Target Earnings (OTE): $150,000–$175,000, including a $30,000 commission draw during ramp-up. Year 2 OTE: $200,000+ based on performance. Please note that placement within the posted salary range is based on several factors, including geographic location, experience, skills, alignment with role requirements and other job-related factors. It is uncommon for offers to be made at the top of the range, as this typically reflects a candidate who exceeds all role requirements and brings significant, directly applicable experience. We benchmark our pay ranges against current external data sources and regularly review compensation for our team members.
