Position Summary:

As a Hardware Engineer, Technical Lead, you will support and advocate for your hardware engineering staff through career planning, training, timely performance feedback, formal performance appraisals, program staffing, and application of the Engineering process and best practices. This is a multi-faceted position where your management/supervisory duties will account for a subset of your time and your hardware engineering design and development tasks as well as detailed mentoring/teaching will account for the majority of your time.

As a Hardware Engineer, Technical Lead you will male impacts in the following ways;
  • Provides engineering functional leadership including managing and monitoring the performance and professional growth of individual contributors.
  • Perform detailed technical design, development and integration tasks as required!
  • Assigning, directing, and evaluating technical tasks
  • Provide guidance, support, and coaching to the functional group through regular employee one on ones and perform annual employee performance reviews.
  • Identify and develop critical skills that align with business objectives.
  • Partner and collaborate with program managers, project engineers, and other functional managers to ensure program goals, requirements, and needs are understood and achieved.
  • Ensure engineering efforts are planned and executed in accordance with company policies, procedures, processes, and best practices.

This role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work and will take the form of a hybrid work schedule, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
The following education, skills and experiences are required in order to be considered for the role.

  • BS degree in Engineering related Hardware discipline and 10+ years work experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Engineering Functional Management in Hardware leading groups of eight or more engineers
  • People management experience with proven performance management including mentoring, coaching, motivation and communication skills.
  • Successful engineering project experience encompassing technical, cost, schedule and quality topics.
  • Experience across the detailed design, development, integration and test phases of a project
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
The below experiences and skills are preferred but NOT required to be qualified for this position.
  • 6-10 years of flight controls engineering design, development, integration and test
  • Experience in embedded computing hardware design with multiple serial, digital and discrete interfaces
  • Experience with IR&D development
  • Experience with Earned Value Management and Risk/Opportunity Management
  • Experience with transitioning engineering designs to full production programs
  • Experience leading engineering design and development teams of fifteen or more
  • Experience leading safety critical projects
  • Experience leading a multi-site project teams

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $127900 - $217400

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
