Finance & Accounting Manager (Pacific)

As Finance & Accounting Manager, Pacific you will be responsible for the leadership of the accounting and reporting functions. You will provide timely and accurate financial information and business support, ensuring the integrity of the financial systems and processes for three brands across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.

Based out of our offices in Ellerslie , Auckland you will leads a team of 8 accounting professionals, with 6 direct reports that are based in the New Zealand and Singapore offices.

This position is instrumental in streamlining financial, accounting and reporting processes and is empowered to make efficiency and effectiveness improvements.

  • Manage the completion the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close in Oracle Fusion and FCCS. Assist in providing key commentary and analytics on results working closing with the Regions leadership and financial planning and analysis teams.
  • Manage the governance and financial integrity, system interface requirements of the record to report stream for Oracle Fusion and FCCS for the Pacific Region working closely with the internal/external reporting and the financial systems support teams in North America.
  • Identify and implement processes to streamline financial, accounting and reporting processes and empower the finance and accounting teams to make efficiency and effectiveness improvements.
  • Manage and work with external Auditors to co-ordinate the planning /controls, interim and annual audit process, and production of annual financial statements for Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore under IFRS, Singapore GAAP and US GAAP. This includes oversight of airport concession agreed upon procedures reviews.
  • Manage and oversee the lease accounting requirements in Visual Lease working with the Property Leads in Pacific, International and the Property Reporting Team in North America.
  • Ensure all indirect tax compliance and reporting is accomplished for the Region.
  • Lead, with the Financial Controller, the cash management function and all treasury related activities for all countries and business units, including the management of banking partners, an Asset Backed Securitisation, and other external facilities in Pacific. Liaise with Financiers and Global Head Office Treasury on funding related issues to ensure the business is adequately funded, meeting covenant requirements and the optimal cash position is held.
  • Assist the financial controller and Executive Assistant to ensure the Australian, New Zealand and Singapore legal entities meet all statutory requirements, and overview any legal work being performed.

Skills & Experience

  • CA or CPA Qualified
  • Previous experience in a Finance and Accounting management role within a large complex environment (either a Corporate or a Chartered Accountancy Practice) is desirable.
  • Experience in working for or with North American (US) listed entities or equivalent being highly beneficial.
  • Leadership experience or managing a small team.
  • Knowledge of an ERP such as Oracle or SAP
  • Exposure to Lease Accounting, and knowledgeable on the complexity
  • Excellent communicator, able to build relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Experienced and hands-on when it comes to month end reporting and analysis.
  • Strategic problem solver, with the ability to identify and drive continuous improvement to our processes and policies.
