Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for a talented Software Engineering Managerto join our growing Access team, leading the User Management and Administration capabilities that support all Autodesk customers!

As a Software Engineering Manager in the Access organization, you will be leading a team which is responsible for building Autodesk's User Management platform. This platform is essential to our business, requiring the highest levels of reliability, availability, and performance to deliver a seamless user experience for our customers.

We operate in a dynamic, global environment and this role requires an empathetic leader with strong collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing team of 8-10 engineers building scalable, resilient, and secure microservices and customer-facing applications on AWS Cloud.
  • Be accountable for the team's deliverables and ensure delivery of high quality, maintainable software that meets security and privacy standards.
  • Be an advocate for a great customer experience.
  • Assist in the operation and support of our production systems and ensure operational aspects are considered in the day-to-day engineering work.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to define the technical vision and roadmap for the team.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, UX, other engineering teams and Customer Success to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Meet regularly with team members to set clear performance expectations, support growth, and provide timely coaching and feedback.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, continuous learning and innovation.

  • Values testing and quality. You understand modern testing strategies and frameworks to ensure reliability, maintainability, and confidence in the code.
  • Comfortable working with geographically distributed team. We have peers in the US, South America, Europe and Asia.

Your Experience

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong track record of frontend and full-stack development for production-ready systems.
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including product roadmap planning, agile team management, career growth, performance development, and conflict resolution.
  • Proven experience leading multiple concurrent projects - balancing priorities, managing scope, requirements, timelines, stakeholders, dependencies, and risks.
  • Experience building strong partnerships between engineering teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Expertise in full-stack development, ideally using JavaScript based technologies such as Node.js and React.
  • Extensive experience working in production with AWS Cloud Services (e.g., S3, SNS, SQS, API Gateway) and Serverless Lambda infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in designing, implementing, deploying, and operating scalable API services (REST, GraphQL)
  • A strong track record of fostering a culture of continuous delivery, automation and agile development.

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location.
