Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Manager to join our Insights Platform Engineering team. The platform is responsible for providing Insights to our customers that will help them make informed decisions. You'll be responsible for building and leading the team to ensure that we build a creative and scalable experiences for our customers.

As an ideal candidate, you'll have led teams developing modern web experiences in a fast-paced, agile environment. You'll know how to build and guide highly effective and high-performing teams and inspire them to remain at the cutting edge of the fastest-growing technology stack. You'll excel at being a mentor and coach to engineers at all points of their career journey.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of full-stack engineers
  • Provide insight, feedback, and recommendations to senior management regarding the development, capabilities, and potential of current and future software projects
  • Understands the frontend technology stack, comes up with design and codes on needs basis
  • Aid in the design and building of solutions, frameworks, automation, and orchestration for a broad range of applications
  • Be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects
  • Identify efficiency opportunities through automation, engineering, and process
  • Work closely with technical leads, product managers, and others to drive towards a common vision
  • Provide insightful leadership to achieve a high software engineering standard, including efficiency, quality, security, resiliency, and other best practices
  • Hire, manage, and develop a professional staff of engineers
  • Collaborate with a geographically dispersed team and stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

  • BE/BS degree or equivalent practical experience (MS in Computer Science or a related degree is preferred)
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience, with 5+ years of hands-on technical leadership and 2+ years of people management experience
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience in an engineering role delivering software solutions
  • Strong hands-on experience with technologies, such as ReactJS
  • Strong knowledge of cloud service platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Good understanding of backend technologies like data streaming, data storage and data transmission.
  • Experience with scrum and agile development processes and methodologies
  • Proactive, quick decision maker with excellent communication and written skills
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve complex and ambiguous issues

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $145,800 and $235,950. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
