Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team focused on shaping the future of Factory Design solutions in Autodesk Fusion. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, we are looking for a person who is enthusiastic about delivering innovative web applications targeted at Factory Design and Simulation. In this hybrid role, you will be working on backend software development for web applications. Autodesk Fusion is an ecosystem of client and server components, next generation web client, SDK and Cloud services with a variety of integrations with world leading products such as AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit.

Responsibilities

  • You will participate in the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of the application
  • Produce clean, secure, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • You will participate in code reviews, debugging sessions, and documentation efforts
  • Understand event-driven architectures and apply it to software development
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and timelines
  • You will be using cloud technologies, including AWS services such as S3, OSS, and RDS, for scalable and reliable solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in software development with proficiency in web and cloud technologies
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, data structures, and algorithms
  • Proficiency in Java/NodeJS and developing RESTful web services
  • Working knowledge in database technologies e.g. MySQL, MongoDB
  • Experience with build and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
  • Excellent debugging skills and troubleshoot complex software issues
  • Understanding of event-driven architecture principles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a Scrum framework

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in logging and monitoring technologies such as Splunk
  • Familiarity in CAD software and concepts
  • Familiarity in JavaScript frameworks such as React
  • Exposure to cloud services such as AWS with focus on storage and compute
  • Understanding of WebGL and 3D graphics programming
  • Understanding of Discrete Event Simulation
