Position Overview

The Senior Visual Experience Designer at Autodesk is a creative futurist, an accountable standard bearer, a system thinker, and a team player all rolled into one. Our designers use design thinking skills to constantly challenge the team to think beyond the expected, and launch high-quality experiences our customers will love.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Experience Design for the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions (PDMS), the Senior Visual Experience Designer is an individual contributor who will work on strategic projects which create cohesive, and scalable user experiences that can be responsive to form factors across platforms for PDMS products.

Responsibilities

  • You will lead visual experience design initiatives and help set strategy by evaluating and identifying the intersection of business needs, customer needs, and technical opportunities
  • You will partner with the broader experience design team, design program management, and the platform engineering team in exploring, planning, verifying, and building solutions that scale
  • You will create Autodesk Design System-aligned, high-quality visual design deliverables including hi-fidelity UI mockups, icons, illustrations, prototypes and visual assets for production, validation and testing
  • You will frequently advocate the Autodesk Design System, apply the design standards to the product UI whenever possible, devote on keeping cohesive experience within/across products, with the mindset of scaling product-specific patterns for the Autodesk Design System
  • You will contribute to efforts of strengthening our platform-thinking and improving design processes that help create experience cohesion
  • You will engage as an active member of an exciting, diverse and global design community

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience working in Visual Design, with an understanding of designing intuitive product functionality, user interfaces, and navigation
  • Experience with design system, building one from scratch, or directly contributing to an existing one
  • Experience building reusable UI components by proficiently using design tools like Figma, Sketch, etc.
  • Great at handling complexity and reducing complex problems down to valuable and efficient solutions for end-users
  • Demonstrated ability to visualize and prototype intended solutions from high-level wireframes to conceptual presentations to hi-fidelity mockups with tactical visual specifications as hand-off to Development team

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $86,300 and $126,500. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
