Position Overview
Virtual and augmented reality are transforming design and creation through new immersive and collaborative experiences that will impact how major segments like entertainment, architecture, engineering, construction, and manufacturing converge. The industry is being transformed by XR technology growth, creating new ways of working to review, collaborate and create. Reporting to our Head of Product Management for XR at Autodesk, you will be part of the AR/VR/MR (XR) team responsible for Autodesk's overall XR strategy, pushing the development of this technology in the Autodesk portfolio and ecosystem.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a balance of social, technical, and business skills, is passionate about XR technologies, and wants to have an impact on Autodesk, our partners, and our customers. S/he needs to demonstrate a strategic mindset while also interested in remaining close to technology.

This opportunity offers multiple learning paths and growth within a dynamic & evolving team. You'll be working on brand new technology, while still being part of a large organization with the support that comes with it.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the central key piece between strategy, users, technology, partners, and the team
  • Support the Head of PM with XR strategy, partnerships, and platform integrations
  • Interact with users and customers to fully understand the problems they are facing in their workflows to craft problem statements
  • Drive what user problems the team solves on a day-to-day basis
  • Work with the PM team, the experience designer, and software developers to perform research and implement XR proof of concepts and solutions
  • Help prepare and perform XR demos for internal and external stakeholders and inspire them in communicating our vision and direction
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of our XR solutions
  • Consider inputs from design and technical stakeholders, and prioritize requirements for XR solution development
  • Influence the development of our solution by directly participating in agile process and ceremonies
  • Assist the XR team with backlog

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager in the software/digital space (SaaS, e-commerce, platform as a service, gaming or related)
  • Experience working on API's/SDK's and/or platform integrations
  • Team player and a fantastic collaborator
  • Ability to communicate complex technical details coherently to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Pragmatic, good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work in a start-up fashion even within a big company (things will move fast)
  • Experience in an agile development environment
  • Innate curiosity to learn and share learnings

Preferred Qualifications

  • University Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with AR/VR/MR
  • Knowledge of basic 3D math and modern graphics pipeline
  • Experience with full-stack models, services, and cloud deployment
  • Game engine experience with either Unity or Unreal
  • Experience working with 3D tools used in Architecture, Engineering & Construction and/or Design & Manufacturing industries

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $134,000 and $216,700. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
