Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Developer Tooling team. This team builds internal tools that streamline API publishing, automate documentation delivery, and improve engineering productivity across the company. We're looking for someone with strong Java development experience, complemented by proficiency in other programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in full-stack development, AWS cloud technologies, and a track record of delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy secure and scalable internal developer tooling, including APIs and CI/CD workflows, enhancing existing components as necessary to meet project requirements
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners to define, implement, and deliver features
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a focus on reliability and performance
- Contribute to architectural discussions and provide implementation input under the guidance of senior staff
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Spinnaker
- Contribute to observability and monitoring for internal services using tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk
- Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems
- Take end-to-end ownership of assigned features from design to deployment, collaborating closely with tech leads and peers

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java, with hands-on experience in Python, TypeScript, and/or JavaScript
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices
- Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and experience with tools like Jenkins and Spinnaker
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including RDS and DynamoDB
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in software engineering, including building production applications on large-scale AWS infrastructure (e.g., Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS, RDS, S3)
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk
