Position Overview
At AEC Solutions, we're looking for a Principal iOS Developer to help us build the future faster. Our users are working on some of the most amazing construction projects in the world, and our platform is their central information hub.
The Markups product is one of the most utilized tools within the Autodesk Construction Cloud app, connecting millions of data points every month. You'll work with a diverse tech stack, including Swift, Kotlin, Kotlin Native, and more, to deliver seamless experiences to our users. This is a remote-friendly position based in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Overlook overall architecture of our product within the Autodesk Construction Cloud app
- Help build and improve the overall health of our mobile app and support the productivity of your peer developers
- Architect and enhance Markup tools for the Autodesk Construction Cloud iOS app
- Develop and improve the overall health of the Markups product on our cross-platform team
- Enhance our shared libraries, utilized across iOS, Android, and Web platforms, written in Kotlin Native
- Build components in Swift and SwiftUI
- Create tools that streamline communication and collaboration on construction sites
- Solve complex problems that require in-depth evaluation of variable factors by taking a broad perspective to identify the best approach and innovative solutions
- Work independently, with close guidance in only the most complex or unusual situations
- Adapt communication style to persuade various stakeholders across the business and frequently interact with senior leaders to provide advice and SME
- May lead functional teams or programs within own function (or closely related functions)
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience primarily designing, building, and deploying iOS apps
- Proficiency in Swift (Kotlin is a plus)
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms, with a commitment to software engineering best practices, including object-oriented and functional programming
- Team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and learning from others and thrives on collaborative problem-solving across platforms
- Passion and dedication to writing highly scalable, reliable code
- Interest and experience in refactoring and improving legacy code and systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and Kotlin/Native integration on iOS
- Experience optimizing SQL queries and managing low-level SQLite integrations
- Experience with cross-platform development
- Experience with MVI or Redux-like architectures
- Deep subject-matter knowledge and sound business acumen to advise leaders

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $131,500 and $180,840. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
