Position Overview

The Manager, Technology Event Programs will be responsible for strategizing, operationalizing, and executing a portfolio of Autodesk's internal technical conferences aimed at promoting knowledge exchange, innovation, and professional growth among our employees. This role is primarily responsible for TechX, Autodesk's internal technical conference, and the Technical Leadership Forum, the bi-annual event for our senior most technical community.

You will ensure seamless coordination across workstreams, iterate on existing processes, and foster effective collaboration with cross-functional partners. If you're a hands-on leader who can operationalize strategy and get things done, this role is for you.

This role reports to the Sr. Director, Technical Excellence, and will be 100% remote from California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, or Vancouver.

Responsibilities

Conference Program and Execution

  • Develop and implement an execution strategy for internal technical conferences, aligning with company objectives and values
  • Collaborate with executive sponsors and internal stakeholders to operationalize the strategic program workstreams to deliver well-coordinated, high quality outcomes; these include but are not limited to track identification, call for proposals and selection, speaker management, volunteer programs and ticket allocations
  • Prioritize the technical attendee experience by implementing strategies to maximize and measure engagement, participation, and networking opportunities
  • Ensure a clear conference calendar, ensuring key milestones are reflected in planning, prep and delivery
  • Iterate on existing organizational processes to improve productivity, budget, operational efficiency, reduce duplication, and ensure alignment across adjacent teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build trusted relationships by demonstrating human first leadership. Foster a collaborative environment that drives consistency, quality, and accountability across every event
  • Collaborate with our Events and Experiences team, Data and Insights, HR, IT, Comms and vendor partners to ensure seamless conference logistics and promotion
  • Data driven decision making, transparent and confident decision maker, who can quickly unblock teams and drive event outcomes forward
  • Airtable is a key tool for all our data management for speakers, volunteers, booths, executives and attendees and the main tool for collaboration between teams; to be successful, this leader will need to be strongly proficient in Airtable

Management

  • Lead a team of event specialists, program leaders and Airtable experts to organize the data, develop workstream roles and responsibilities and ensure delivery of every conference workstream
  • Point of contact for Technical Leadership Forum site selection, contracts and budget decisions. Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure effective delivery within scope
  • Maintain a focus on continuous improvement by identifying and implementing ways to streamline execution and enhance cross-team coordination
  • Identifying strengths, opportunities and professional development to build leaders in their direct and extended teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in program management, preferably with a focus on technical conferences or professional development events
  • Effective people manager who fosters accountability, clarity, and growth
  • Strong people management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and lead initiatives from concept to execution
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, managing vendors, and controlling event budgets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly with technical and executive audiences
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools, especially Airtable, Asana or Smartsheets
  • Willingness to travel as required for conferences and related activities

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $125,800 and $203,500. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
