Position Overview
This position will be responsible for meeting our customer requirements in language solutions by engaging with internal customers including product and marketing/sales teams, functional groups, vendor partners, and delivering a successful localization program.
This role will report to our Manager, Localization Program Management, and it is a hybrid position based in our Vancouver office.
Responsibilities
- Function as a business partner with internal stakeholders by driving the implementation of optimal workflows and defining localization strategies for your program. Represent Localization, providing recommendations, and evangelizing the vision of the Localization organization
- Determine localization requirements in terms of scope and milestones, and drive high level project planning from an early phase
- Manage project cost within your localization program
- Be an advanced user of an in-house cost management system for cost analysis and reporting. Make sure spending/forecast is accurate and reported to management/stakeholders in a timely manner
- Collaborate with global stakeholders and promote language-AI solutions to ensure alignment with language requirements
- Use data analysis, judgment, and interpretation to select the right course of action
- Establish positive communication among internal customers, functional groups, and external vendors to identify potential issues and effectively remove barriers to localization program success
- Drive escalation to resolution
- Monitor and analyze performance of vendor partners through evaluations and other KPIs; monitor and enforce applicable requirements
- Drive a program retrospective with product and/or marketing teams, functional groups, and vendor partners to optimize program effectiveness
- Engage in cross-functional or corporate initiatives to represent localization and influence the stakeholders for continuous process improvement
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Localization Program Management or Translation/Localization Project Management; in a high-technology environment preferred
- Knowledge of MT/MTQE/APE (quality estimation/automated post-editing), language AI domain, AI-based localization
- Experience with cost management principles and tools
- Knowledge and experience with localization tools/processes, linguistic quality management, cross-industry marketing complexities, release processes, etc.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with a wide variety of internal stakeholders and external partners
- Ability to work on a self-initiated basis and in a global team environment with vendor partners
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
