Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Architect to join the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Platform team. The Autodesk IAM Platform is a critical foundation that ensures secure, seamless, and scalable access management across 150+ Autodesk desktop, mobile, web applications, and smart devices. It supports key capabilities including authentication and authorization-serving millions of users globally and enabling a growing ecosystem of third-party developers and connected devices. In this role, you will lead the architecture and evolution of the Authentication capability-a cornerstone of the IAM Platform. You will be responsible for designing and guiding the development of secure and resilient authentication services that integrate deeply with Autodesk products and platforms.

As a technical leader for the IAM team in India, you will provide architectural direction, mentor engineers, and ensure technical alignment across teams. You will also collaborate closely with global architects and stakeholders across the broader IAM organization to define and drive the platform's strategy and roadmap. This role reports to the Senior Director of the IAM Platform and is based in India. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the architecture and design of modern, cloud-based IAM (identity and access management) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discussion and decision making across internal and external organisations and virtual teams
  • Evaluate the feasibility of alternative directions in future architecture/platform development through the creation of models and prototypes
  • Ensure that the selected architectures achieve the desired quality attributes, such as security, scalability, and resilience
  • Work closely with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to translate overall business needs, system architecture and product requirements into well-designed and implemented software services
  • Present to and gain insights and feedback from senior Autodesk management on key architectural initiatives
  • Key contributor to both near and long-term technology roadmaps for the business

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of experience as a hands-on software architect
  • Proven record of leading architecture for commercial SaaS applications deployed globally at massive scale serving the needs of enterprise customers
  • Excellent communication skills in both formal and informal settings
  • Demonstration of high levels of ownership and accountability and working closely with engineering teams to consistently deliver
  • Broad knowledge of SaaS development tools, languages, and frameworks, understanding their appropriate application
  • A keen and applied understanding of latest paradigms in building scalable and reliable cloud native services such as microservices, event sourcing, concurrency, data persistence (RDBMS, NoSQL), data schema languages, REST/GraphQL APIs, container orchestration, security and privacy
  • Experience building fully automated development workflows, including validation, adherence to best practice guidelines, builds and deployments
  • Substantial experience architecting cloud services on top of AWS and one or more other IaaS/PaaS providers
  • Expertise with service monitoring tools like new relic or equivalent and ability to find root cause, set alerts & navigate through logs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in software or high-tech or telecom industry
  • Knowledge of IAM platform
