Position Overview
We are looking for an exceptional communications leader to join Autodesk's Global Communications team as Director, COO & International Communications. In this highly visible role, you will be the primary communications partner to our Chief Operating Officer (COO) and lead strategic communications for the COO organization. You will also drive regionally relevant communications supporting international priorities, ensuring global alignment, operational clarity, and consistent execution across Autodesk's international markets.

You will work closely with senior executives, regional leadership teams, and cross-functional partners to shape compelling narratives, elevate executive visibility, and deliver communication strategies that engage, inspire, and mobilize employees worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic communications partner to the COO, managing executive visibility, messaging, and internal and external communications
  • Develop and execute communications strategies that drive understanding of the COO organization's priorities and initiatives globally
  • Partner with international leadership teams to deliver localized communications that reflect regional needs and cultural nuances, while maintaining global alignment
  • Lead the creation of high-impact materials including speeches, talking points, presentations, videos, blogs, and other multimedia content
  • Collaborate with teams across COO, People, Finance, etc., to ensure consistent and effective messaging
  • Support major global initiatives and change management efforts with communications strategies that drive clarity, engagement, and action across regions
  • Provide strategic counsel on executive positioning and reputation management
  • Measure and report on communication effectiveness, continuously refining strategies based on feedback and analytics

Minimal Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in executive, internal, or corporate communications within a global organization
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editing skills with experience supporting C-level executives
  • Strong strategic thinking, relationship-building, and collaboration skills across highly matrixed environments
  • Ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, compelling communications for diverse global audiences
  • Proven success delivering communications that drive engagement and alignment across international markets
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels-equally skilled in counseling executives and creating best-in-class content
  • Experience in change management communications is highly desirable
  • Ability to leverage AI tools to efficiently manage workflows
  • Skilled in executive presentation design (PowerPoint, Google Slides), internal channels (Slack, Zoom, SharePoint), and comfortable with visual storytelling
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field; Master's degree a plus
  • Based in the Americas, with flexibility to work across global time zones; some travel required

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $172,000 and $278,190. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
