Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a highly experienced Director, Audience Acquisition & Engagement to join our Brand Events & Experiences team. This role will lead the demand generation and communication function for all of Autodesk's flagship events and will serve as an indispensable thought-partner for sales, marketing, and customer success, to align event marketing efforts with the company's goals.

This role is critical to driving brand awareness, audience acquisition, and attendee engagement.

The ideal candidate will be an event professional with 10-15 years of enterprise events marketing experience and a track record of success leading audience acquisition and engagement efforts for large-scale technology events of 10,000+.

You will report to the Head of Brand Events & Experiences.

Location: Remote

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the event marketing function within Autodesk, with a specific focus on driving audience acquisition, satisfaction, and engagement
  • Build and nurture a team of event marketing professionals to execute strategies effectively
  • In conjunction with sales and marketing leadership, craft compelling message frameworks and narratives for Autodesk events that will be amplified across every event touchpoint, including keynote, expo, session content, and more
  • Work with the highest levels of Sales & ABM leadership to align on GTM strategy and revenue growth goals and craft a robust target audience approach to drive awareness, engagement, and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with Campaigns, Social Media, and Employee Communications teams to create and drive an integrated multi-channel communications and campaigns plan across digital, media, social media, internal enablement and activation
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly, using data-driven insights to improve strategies and tactics
  • Work closely with Brand Studio team on creation and maintenance of event vizid to ensure consistent and compelling campaign assets, ads, and event websites
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of executive-facing materials designed to create awareness and transparency across all levels of senior leadership
  • In conjunction with head of events and experiences, drive all on-site communications and post-show readouts
  • Manage award submissions, event surveys and reporting, along with internal marketing efforts
  • Stay current with best practices in experiential marketing and monitor and report on emerging trends that will support future growth and engagement

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of progressive leadership roles in driving audience acquisition and engagement for large-scale enterprise events (10,000+ attendees) with multi-industry audiences
  • A deep understanding of customer-centric marketing strategies and the ability to leverage customer insights to drive marketing initiatives
  • Significant experience in all aspects of event marketing, including customer segmentation, persona development, customer journey mapping, campaign creation, A/B testing, and post-show analysis and reporting
  • Experience using data and analytics to measure and optimize customer marketing campaigns
  • Experience presenting to C-level executives
  • Ability to collaborate across all levels of the company
  • Ability to make timely decisions within a group dynamic and collaborate with Brand Studio and agency partners to develop timelines and milestones for pre, post and onsite promotion and audience engagement tasks
  • Experience using data to lead decision-making
  • Deep knowledge of marketing automation and analytics tools
  • Professional, passionate, creative and spirited collaborator
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, events, or equivalent relevant experience

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $168,300 and $272,250. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
