Position Overview:
Autodesk is seeking an enthusiastic product attorney who enjoys partnering with business colleagues to understand their objectives, ensure product readiness, and help solve problems for our customers. You have experience distilling complex legal issues into actionable advice. You will provide a broad range of legal support to product and platform teams serving the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry and partner with the business to enable Autodesk's platform vision. You will also help support strategic partnerships, M&A, and integration projects. You will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel. This position will be hybrid and based in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities:
- Participate as a business partner to leaders and teams serving the AEC industry and build a trusted advisor relationship
- Engage with team members at all levels, including product management, software engineers, data scientists, analytics, marketing and business strategy
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of agreements critical to our product teams, including those relating to cloud service offerings, inbound technology licensing, machine learning/AI tools and services, other vendor services, developer programs, open-source projects, and technology and strategic partnerships
- Support product readiness and release by identifying and driving resolution of issues related to intellectual property, privacy, data security, confidentiality, machine learning/AI, marketing, competition, regionalization, and other legal and regulatory issues
- Learn and advise on the legal implications of new technologies and business models
- Help develop and implement programs for policy and process improvements to enable teams to move faster and smarter
- Support M&A activities for specified product areas, including due diligence reviews, advising on transaction structure, execution, and integration matters, with a focus on intellectual property and go-to-market issues
Minimum Qualifications:
- You have a JD (Juris Doctorate) degree from an ABA accredited university and are in good standing as a member of the Bar
- You have 5+ years of experience providing legal support to software and cloud service businesses, either at a law firm or corporate legal department
- You have interest in intellectual property, privacy and technology transactions
- You preferably have a background in engineering/applied science/computer science
- You are a collaborative team player who excels at finding solutions in a fast-paced work environment

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $147,500 and $238,590. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
