During your 12-month industrial placement in our Sheffield office, you'll join Autodesk's Stardew team, a group of software experts focused on a software-driven approach to Quality Assurance (QA). In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience developing automated tests that assess and improve the quality of our products. You'll work closely with web and desktop development teams, liaising with engineers, designers, and architects to identify innovative solutions that meet our quality standards.
One of the products you will contribute to is BIM Collaborate Pro, a sophisticated client-side application built using modern web technologies including React, Redux, and WebGPU. You will maintain and enhance automated End-to-End and Unit tests, contribute to our Jenkins continuous integration pipeline, and help ensure each release meets our highest quality standards. Alongside technical growth, you'll also develop professional skills and build connections with other placement students and interns across EMEA and globally.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to quality throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design to customer release
- Create and maintain resilient automated tests using the Cypress JavaScript framework
- Design test cases and execute test procedures documented in Jira
- Collaborate with your team as part of our Agile development methodology (Kanban)
- Gain insight into modern development practices within a global organisation

- Contribute to Jenkins continuous integration platform to automatically assess code quality and run tests
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in a software development-related degree and available for a 12-month industrial placement starting Summer 2026
- Please state your expected graduation month and year in your application
- Open-minded and motivated to learn new concepts and ideas
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently
- Understanding of software testing and quality assurance is beneficial
The Ideal Candidate
- Exposure to JavaScript frameworks and front-end technologies (e.g., React, Redux)
- Familiarity with automated testing tools (e.g., Cypress)
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins)
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and analytical skills
