SP Industries is seeking a Utility Worker in the Precision Bore department to carefully wash glassware and precision bore tubes. The position may also include washing of other types of glassware, and the operation of washing equipment, such as conventional or ultrasonic washers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate equipment used to wash tubes and other glassware.
- Hand wash tubes and glassware using a variety of cleaning solutions from detergent and water mixes to diluted acids.
- Blow tubes with compressed air. Visually inspect washed product according to work instructions.
- Use a variety of measuring instruments such as calipers to ensure parts meet quality levels for size and finish
- Assist in managing the supply of replacement parts
- Observe all precautions, rules and regulations related to environmental, health and safety matters (i.e., PPE, properly deposing of wastes, etc.).
- Understand and follow Bills of Materials and process routers
Qualifications/Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior experience working in a team oriented environment
- 2-5 years of glass experience
- Appropriate hand and eye coordination
- Ability to read blueprints

- Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
- Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
