Quality Technician

SP Industries, an ATS Company, is expanding our team in Gardiner, NY and have immediate openings for a Quality Technician. In this role, the right candidate will be responsible for supporting quality control activities with a focus on refrigeration and charging processes for freeze dryers and other thermal equipment. This role ensures accurate charging of all units, proper use and upkeep of charging tools/equipment and collection of reliable process data. The technician will work closely with the Quality Manager and production teams to uphold product quality equipment performance and compliance with internal and customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform and document charging of all production units per established procedures
  • Maintain charging stations refrigeration equipment and related tools to ensure readiness and reliability
  • Calibrate inspect and verify charging tools and instruments
  • Collect record and verify process data in support of product quality and compliance
  • Troubleshoot charging or refrigeration process issues and escalate as needed
  • Support quality checks inspections and audits as directed by the Quality Manager
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean organized work area
  • Assist with training production staff on charging processes equipment care and data collection requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities related to quality and process efficiency

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required technical certificate or associate degree preferred
  • 1-3 years experience in quality manufacturing or technical operations preferred
  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration charging processes or related mechanicalelectrical systems is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail accuracy in data entry and ability to follow written procedures
  • Proficient in using basic measurement tools gauges and data collection systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment
  • Good communication skills for crossfunctional collaboration

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequent standing walking bending kneeling stooping and reaching
  • Lift push or pull up to 50 lbs
  • Use of hands and arms for handling tools hoses and refrigeration equipment
  • Ability to remain physically active throughout an entire shift in a production environment
  • Regularly required to talk listen and use computer systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Shopfloor based daily interaction with production equipment and inprocess units
  • Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions moderate noise moving machinery pressurized systems and occasional temperature fluctuations
  • Personal protective equipment PPE such as safety glasses gloves and hearing protection required
  • Fastpaced environment where accuracy and attention to detail are critical

Payrate : $28-38/hr

HSE

  • Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods
  • Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts
  • Report defect in any equipment or protective device
  • Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks
  • Attend all required health, safety and environmental training
  • Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
  • Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
  • Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
