To help our teams work together effectively, this role requires you to be located in the Pacific timezone.

Atlassian is hiring an experienced Strategy & Operations professional to join our People Insights team; a group of analysts, data scientists, behavioral scientists, researchers and business partners, who use data and research to inform strategic and operational issues facing our leaders, teams, and people. You will be skilled at leading complex cross-functional initiatives with a broad range of stakeholders, and are a strategic thinker who understands the business impact of efficient and effective operations. You will be a critical individual contributor that combines strategic leadership and operational excellence to be a trusted advisor and leader for their team, requiring previous experience in the People Analytics & Workforce Planning domain. You will report to the Head of People Insights, Operations & Benefits.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution:

    • Act as a trusted advisor to the Head of People Insights, helping to set and execute strategic priorities. Ensure alignment across the People Insights team and cross-functional partners, driving initiatives that support the organization's goals.
    • Design and manage operational processes and cadences, including leadership meetings, OKR/QBR sessions, and strategy planning. Develop and implement new processes and tools to optimize team efficiency and streamline operations.
    • Lead complex and ambiguous projects from inception to execution, ensuring they align with strategic goals and are delivered on time. Proactively identify and mitigate risks and challenges.
  • Collaboration and Influence:

    • Cultivate strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and enhance collaboration.
    • Facilitate alignment on key issues and opportunities.
    • Communicate effectively up, down, and across the organization.
  • Data Analysis & Storytelling:

    • Conduct business research and analysis to provide actionable insights.
    • Craft effective narratives and recommendations for executives, leverage storytelling with data to build trust, align vision, and drive action.
    • Develop and track organization-level goals to measure the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and processes.
  • Leadership & Mentoring:

    • Lead cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
    • Mentor and support team members in developing their skills.


  • Your background

    • 12+ years of relevant professional experience turning a strategy into executable plans and driving high visibility projects
    • Exceptional analytical and data analysis skills, drive to support decisions with data, and the ability to make data digestible to varied audiences
    • Experience in diagnosing pain points for teams, moving them to good, and going the extra mile to ensure they are great
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Desired:

    • Experience in People Analytics, Workforce Planning, or related fields.
    • Experience with executive-level communications and reporting.
    • Proficiency in SQL AND another data manipulation programming language (e.g. Python, R)
    • Experience of advanced statistical methods (e.g., could include: regression, cluster analysis, HLM, social network analysis, text analysis, longitudinal methods, etc.)
    • An understanding of the SaaS business model and key metrics

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $207,400 - $276,500

Zone B: $186,600 - $248,800

Zone C: $172,100 - $229,500

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
