Do you love building tools for software engineering teams? Come work with us as a Senior Platform Engineer on Bitbucket Cloud. You'll be part of an experienced team focused on operating and scaling the systems that store and serve all Git repository data for Bitbucket Cloud customers. Our mission is to empower teams to deliver software with agility and confidence.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

• Proficient in Python or Go with systems programming experience and knowledge of C.
• Experienced in designing, implementing, and improving large-scale distributed systems, focusing on File IO.
• Familiar with network-mounted filesystems (NFS, autoFS) and Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Skilled in software frameworks for managing networking infrastructure and developing gRPC services.
• Practices operational excellence, including monitoring, incident response, and blameless post-incident reviews.
• Experienced in coaching and mentoring teammates.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic about learning new technologies, languages, and frameworks.

It's great, but not required, if you have:

• Experience hosting Git or other version control systems.
• Experience with networking protocols and operating SSH services
• Experience with building and deploying microservice architectures.
• Experience designing and operating high-traffic services on cloud PaaS (AWS, Azure) with frameworks (Kubernetes, Docker)

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $176,200 - $235,000

Zone B: $158,600 - $211,500

Zone C: $146,300 - $195,000

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
