Atlassian's industry-leading FinOps team is growing fast. We are looking for an experienced senior engineering manager to lead the team and advance our mission as we uncover insights into our spend and optimise costs and fund further growth.
Reporting to our Senior Engineering Manager for Cloud FinOps, you will lead our FinOps Practices team, which brings visibility of our infrastructure costs, opportunities and risks to teams, and centrally drives rate optimisations. You'll bring your background and knowledge in using data to drive decisions across both engineers and senior managers. As part of this role you'll directly contribute to a company wide OKR and have a material impact on our results.

What you'll do
- Lead a cross functional team of Data Engineers and FinOps Analysts through hiring, mentoring and career growth.
- Have the technical depth to influence technical decisions and direction.
- Set the direction and roadmap for the team to drive outcomes for an engineering wide OKR.
- Manage the teams operational health and outcomes.
You'll be expected to have;
- 10+ years experience building large-scale and modern web software at a SaaS company.
- 5+ years experience managing technical teams.
- Strong technical background and ability to be mostly self reliant in managing technical decisions.
- Experience leading teams with a data focus.
- Experience driving operational and engineering excellence improvements across teams, setting and maintaining standards for engineering teams.
It's great, but not required if you have
- A background in FinOps or working with Financial teams.
- Broad experience in negotiations with multiple cloud\SaaS vendors.
