The Mission Director(MD) is a strategic PMO, Project management office, focusing on defining the path to cloud and managing customer cloud launch journey for our strategic customers. They ensure overall coordination of across SMEs within the business, ensuring customers achieve their cloud objectives and Atlassian value, and they will aggregate and prioritise product insights and feedback.

In practice, this involves coordinating Atlassian experts from Sales, CSS, R&D teams to deliver the best solution to the customer for their cloud adoption and migration journey.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Mission Directors.

  • Oversee strategic customers, build a path to cloud and organise and implement deliverables to meet established goals. Create understanding between our customer objectives and broader goals;
  • Understand customer segment needs, and reliably demonstrate the ability to align their work to address those needs. Create recommendations from customer data, research and findings. Isn't afraid to challenge status quo. Initiate action for change based on new customer insights
  • Communicate with partners; Champions and communicate the vision to peers and partners with conviction, driving a shared understanding and commitment to our objectives, and inspiring others towards goal achievement.
  • Create information, influences and shape the audience/message and select appropriate form(s) of communication; attentively listen and confirms understanding to received information.
  • Share critical information with partners, fostering informed, efficient collaborations.
  • Apply an understanding of the products and services provided, how each product works, and the value it brings.
  • Anticipate and align product knowledge with not only the explicit but also the unspoken, strategic needs of the customer.
  • Articulates ways in which Atlassian's products/services can revolutionise customer's business, while enhancing operational efficiency and strategic growth.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations and integrates knowledge into strategic customer interactions and advisory roles.
  • Identify business problems and propose and provide integrated, user-focused solutions and experiences to address opportunities, define practical implementation of new ideas, processes, methods, products or solutions.
  • Design new solutions, methods, and products, and ensure their successful implementation into existing systems; lead new projects and encourages a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Work with subject matter experts with diverse teams to develop solutions and processes, and also to share this knowledge with others, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.
  • Seek and embrace working with others to accomplish common goals and create positive team environments and encourage teamwork and facilitate collaboration within the team.
  • Demonstrate teamwork skills and contribute to a collaborative team environment and to value and engage in collaboration, fostering a supportive team culture.
  • Share improvements with their group which results in broader positive impact; share their knowledge through mentoring.


  • 10+ years of experience in a strategic customer-facing role within either customer support, customer success, a migrations-specific department, or other meaningful function.
