As part of our cloud strategy, we are on a mission to get our SaaS offerings to be enterprise ready and widely adopted by enterprise customers. Our company goal of 100 million MAU requires mass adoption of our products by knowledge workers, which means building our mass adoption of our products by enterprises. Over the last three years, the Enterprise Trust team has laid the foundation to support enterprise customers with new offerings. In the next three years, we want to accelerate that adoption further to make our cloud-ready for every customer a reality.
About Enterprise Cloud Journey Platform
The Enterprise Cloud Journey Platform primarily provides core features and platform capabilities to support large scale data movement within an enterprise to support shifting to cloud, moving from other products to Atlassian Cloud, various compliance requirements (backup-restore), cloud footprint optimisations (cloud-to-cloud migration or c2c)
Role
You'll work closely with our design and product management as well as architecture teams to influence the direction of the product and plan the steps to get there. You'll be responsible for building effective teams, empowering them to achieve their goals, and putting those goals into broader context. Your greatest responsibility will be looking after the individuals reporting to you coaching and supporting them in their professional development, unlocking their potential, and challenging them to step outside their comfort zone to grow and excel. As a hands on engineering leader, you will also contribute to the engineering and operational practices and bring in a continuous improvement mindset.
Team Scope
As a senior engineering manager, you will bring in your rich technical and leadership experience in driving a team of 2-3 scrum teams. The overall span of the team would be 12-20 and would be the front line manager role, to start with. As a senior leader, you will work closely with multiple principal engineers, mentor and coach engineers. You will not only drive impactful business outcomes, but also take part actively in driving the technical architecture. As a seasoned leader, you will bring in world class engineering excellence and operational excellence. You'll also thrive in a challenging and growing business environment that has ambiguity, multiple global dependency footprint and diverse stakeholders.
Key attributes for candidates
On their first day, we'll expect the candidates to have:
- Significant experience with building large-scale web software
- Experience in leading large development teams directly
- Experience in developing platforms and products in a SaaS world, preferably on AWS
- Strong technical experience and a passion for getting involved in the details
- Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
- Ability to drive technical excellence, pushing innovation, quality and operational excellence
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Driving clarity from single line requirements and providing direction in an ambiguous environments
- A track record of strong execution and delivering results
- Managing frontline engineering managers and architects
It's great if you they have:
- Experience in defining strategic roadmap for products and platforms
- Experience with distributed development teams
