Senior Operational Planner

Introduction to the job

The senior operational planner will plan, schedule and monitor the movement of material through the production cycle. Determines material requirements from engineering and production schedules, and plans offsetting the use of new material with reclaimed material where possible. Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with Purchasing, Manufacturing and Engineering.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Drive & oversee Order Management in our ERP system for production optimization.
  • Initiate, formulate and implement new processes and procedures for factory builds and manage cross sector improvement projects.
  • Measure and report on the gaps in operational planning activities. Highlight the potential risks and in order to influence key stakeholders based upon data.
  • Follow-up with stakeholders at the senior management level to expedite the flow of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Provide frequent updates/presentations to senior management advising the status of WIP, material availability and potential risk to ensure personnel, equipment, materials are provided as needed.
  • Solve problems utilizing the lean methodology (A3/4C) and coach colleagues to do the same. Standardizes processes for the sector. Leads large projects (e.g. workstream of 8 week clear to output), across departments.
  • Complete status reports and data analysis to review and evaluate clear to build, evaluate production progress, achieving build output goals and managing WIP.
  • Determine and communicate on Kanban (sub-assy & WIP) strategy to make sure they are always full and ready for any excursions.
  • Act as an authority within Operational Planning by senior stakeholders and drive results through influential leadership. This includes coaching senior and junior colleagues.
  • Assist cycle count reconciliation reviews and propose/drive corrective action to mitigate future risk.
  • Manages scrap or rework activities resulting from engineering change orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a Technical or Business-Related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Education in a technical discipline is a plus.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in business management, preferably in the semiconductor capital equipment or service business.
  • Ability to analyze and streamline business processes. Project management expertise.
  • Experience in driving customer needs, being proactive and understanding customer requirements ahead of time.
  • Ability to train others and be trained on new processes, etc., with new and existing customers.
  • Cross functional experience in a large organization, multi-national, fast paced industry.
  • Knowledge of SAP, & Excel

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
$81,750-136,250
Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
