Argo Group US currently has a challenging opportunity for Exposure Management Technical Lead, ideally located in any of our Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, Scottsdale, AZ, Alpharetta, GA offices.

This enthusiastic, self-motivated critical thinker will be part of a team-oriented environment in the Risk Analytics Department. The role uses cutting edge technology in a collaborative environment to present ideas, develop solutions, and actively manage exposure to enable sustainable, profitable growth.

You will be responsible for facilitating a consolidated view of exposure across all Property and Non-Property lines.

What do a Technical Lead's day to day duties look like:

  • Compile, Manage Exposure Analytics for Argo US

  • Perform Exposure analytics for critical perils, such as: Property Cat, Casualty Clash, Cyber

  • Develop tools, dashboards across all of Risk Analytics, to facilitate efficiency and drive insights to Business Unit Leaders and Underwriters.

  • Align data sources across Business Units and Products within ArgoUS

  • Collaborate with Actuarial, Predictive Modeling teams to drive improvements in Pricing, Risk Selection models.

  • Support management of aggregates and capacity limits through geospatial mapping tools

  • Ensure that Argo US modeling adheres to Group Exposure Management standards

  • Attend industry conferences and transfer knowledge to the risk modeling department on current best practice.


What's required for the position:

  • Creative problem solver with strong analytical skills, talent for execution and delivery

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology or Analytics related field - or a combination of education, training and experience that equates to the required degree

  • Strong mathematical/statistical, modeling, technical background

  • 5+ years Re/Insurance and Risk Analytics experience

  • 3+ years working with insurance portfolio management, exposure management, or accumulations models or products

  • Strong programming and technical skills: SQL, Python, R, Excel/VB

  • Familiarity with third-party Catastrophe Risk models a plus

  • Actuarial/technical pricing knowledge a plus

  • Ability to work effectively across a wide range of business and function stakeholders
