Job Description
The Student Worker Sustainability Assistant will report directly to the Sustainability and Wellness Director for Tiger Hospitality at Towson University. This position will assist the Tiger Hospitality team with the implementation of sustainability initiatives and report back to the Director on the progress and growth of the Tiger Hospitality sustainability plan. Any candidate must be currently enrolled at Towson University.
COMPENSATION: The hourly rate or salary range for this position is $15.00 to $15.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.??

Job Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and execute Aramark's sustainability initiatives, programs, and events
- Waste Audit (2 semester)
- Coordinate Farmer Market Events on campus
- Assist in implementation of Tiger Hospitality sustainability events (Earth Month, etc.)
- Research sustainability ideas from other universities/industries for possible implementation
- Responsible for managing all sustainability event tables including scheduling as-needed interns, ensuring engagement, and taking photos for social media
- Collaborate and partner with Towson University's Sustainability Coordinator and any sustainability groups and departments that may be on campus to enhance partnership
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge on TU's sustainability initiatives and ensuring we are doing our part to stay current to ensure we grow with the University in this area
- Co-ordinate Social Media updates on sustainability program with Marketing Coordinator

Qualifications
- Must be a student at Towson University pursuing a degree in a Sustainability or Environmental Sciences related field.
- Professional interest and enthusiasm in environmental education, community engagement, leadership, and sustainability.
- Big picture thinking with holistic ideas for student engagement and the over sustainability initiative
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; high attention to detail
- Organized and efficient worker; ability to keep track of multiple projects and tasks
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
