Job Description

Housekeeping Supervisors (Zone) (HS(Z) direct cleaning crews performing technical and general janitorial services across the site. They sustain daily facing relationships with building occupants.
The HS(Z) directs the timely, correct performance of scheduled assignments, work requests and cleaning projects. Working closely with Schedulers, Managers and the Work Control Center, the Supervisor adapts scheduled assignments to daily variations in labor availability, work requirements and conditions, within the terms of UAW labor agreements. The supervisor audits cleanliness to standards, and directs remedial action, training and progressive discipline to ensure contract compliance. The Supervisor oversees safety and skills training, conducts daily safety talks and tours and compiles safety reports. The HS(Z) supports work schedulers in compiling area calculations and fixture counts to level workloads, and maintains inventory levels and equipment readiness. The HS(Z) compiles and ensures the accuracy of records and reports regarding attendance, safety and performance to substantiate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to continuously improve Safety, Quality, Cost, Responsiveness, People and Environment (SQCRPE).

Job Responsibilities

  • Know and uphold ARAMARK?s policies, procedures and Service Agreement with GM-WTC to allow customers and tenants to focus on their core business. Take ownership of campus wide facilities, infrastructure and grounds, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility performance, operating effectiveness and cost efficiency.
  • Develop daily job assignments, based on attendance, shift pass-down notes, work requests, site conditions (leaks, damage, waste flows) and special project requirements.
  • Conduct daily safety talks, schedule mandatory and refresher safety training, and maintain safety records. Investigate safety incidents and compile Safety Incident Reports (5-Why) to determine root cause of the incident and implement permanent preventive measures.
  • Conduct monthly audits of the entire zone for compliance to cleaning standards and job assignments. Identify and correct deficiencies due to neglect, processes, equipment and individual performance.
  • Communicate with ARAMARK Supervisors, Managers, Support Services Teams, GM-LFMRs and occupants to resolve cleaning complaints, improve pro-active measures to enhance overall site appearance, cleanliness and reduce waste. Educate stakeholders in all causes and sources of waste and inefficiency in housekeeping operations and promote continuous improvement initiatives to prevent filth and failure.
  • Collaborate in site-wide initiatives to improve cleaning methods and technologies in lean/green methods, chemicals, tools and equipment:
  • Schedule class-room and on-site training in processes and methods. Arrange training for staff - in correct use, care and maintenance of housekeeping tools and equipment.
  • Conduct cleaning team reviews of deficient areas, and promote self-auditing to recognize and correct deficiencies.
  • Monitor work request status and completion rates and work-order ageing and resolve open items. Ensure that the scheduling of urgent work does not impair operational reliability through unintended consequences.
  • Audit operations and compile reports on cleanliness, customer satisfaction, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI?s) for productivity (call frequencies, call-backs), process improvements, energy savings, cost reductions and similar ?best practice? quality initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Associate?s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Coursework indicating professional development.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the janitorial work and/or supervisory capacity.
  • Basic awareness of facility operations and housekeeping in business environment and responsibility for direct customer relations.
  • Familiarity with computerized EMS, ERM or IWMS/CMMS in a process-driven business environment.
  • Administrative/clerical experience related to business operations, including staff administration, safety, work planning, scheduling or logistics.
