Software Test Engineer

The Software Test Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and managing software testing activities in compliance. Located In Wuppertal, you will play a key role in our progress.

Your Role:

  • The Software Test Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and managing software testing activities in compliance with ISO 29119 and ISO 26262, ensuring coverage of ASPICE processes SWE.4 (Software Unit Verification), SWE.5 (Software Integration and Verification), and SWE.6 (Software Qualification Testing).
  • Plan and coordinate software testing activities aligned with the release calendar.
  • Develop and maintain test specifications and test cases using Application Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., Siemens Polarion).
  • Maintain SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) test environments for unit and integration testing (e.g., Vector CAST, Google gTest).
  • Maintain HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) test environments for qualification testing (e.g., Vector CANoe).
  • Automate the execution of test cases using interpreted and procedural programming languages (e.g., CAPL, Python).
  • Conduct technical reviews, peer reviews, inspection reviews, and code reviews (e.g Polarion, APD).
  • Develop Python scripts to support code analysis and review processes.
  • Generate comprehensive test reports and communicate results to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage and analyze software testing metrics (e.g., code coverage, requirement coverage, traceability) and derive actions for continuous improvement.
  • Set-up and maintain test hardware, including Vector VT System components.
  • Perform reviews, static tests, unit tests, integration tests, and qualification tests.
  • Create and track defect tickets in the defect management system (e.g., JIRA).
  • Report to the Functional Safety Manager, particularly in the context of safety case documentation.
  • Support tool qualification activities required for functional safety compliance.
  • Ensure timely execution of assigned tasks in accordance with APTIV corporate standards and quality guidelines.

Your Background

  • Degree in Engineering (electronic or electrical).
  • Good English skills (both spoken and written).
  • Good German skills (both spoken and written).
  • Team approach.
  • Knowledge of design process in automotive industry: ASPICE
  • ISTQB® & CTFL certification.
  • Programming experiences C & C++.
