Your role:

As Senior Account Manager (f/m/d) you will possess proven world-class experience through high growth periods. He/She will be recognized for designing and developing organizational capability and talent depth in support of growth. A strong focus on customer satisfaction, sense of urgency and bias for action are unwavering requirements for this role. Ideal candidate will bring to the organization commercial excellence, market intelligence and best in class focus on building and maintaining customer relationship on a regional basis.

Customer Relationship

  • Customer Strategy: understanding and influencing what drives economic value for the customer
  • APTIV Strategy: understanding what drives economic value -profitability for APTIV, Enterprise & Divisional
  • Building a customer network and understanding customer power maps, decision makers, etc.
  • Ability to analyze customer relationships; proactively identify recommendations on how to increase customer engagement and opportunities, which informs / directs elements of the customer strategy
  • Proficiency to understand and inform APTIV account sales team on the list of key value drivers (metrics) that impact customer's value chain
  • Ability to understand and qualify our value advantage versus our competitors; understand and articulate the strength of our offerings / solutions
  • Ability to develop customer plan for sales meetings - goals for each stage within the sales cycle, including the possible concessions

Price Management and Delivery Bookings

  • Understanding price point for APTIV products; develop & maintain pricing and cost models
  • Provide accurate forecasting activities, that take into consideration market and in all economic cycles
  • Proactive at reviewing customer's past / current contracts to determine trends and "win" strategies to recommend to the sales team
  • Ability to lead and establish firm quote offer(s) to customers; provide cost breakdown
  • Ability to follow a cadence on account/pricing reviews; negotiate price; bringing sales to closure
  • Design, create or contribute to the creation and maintenance of crisp value selling material to support APTIV's sales pitch
  • Deliver booking plan for PBU and Division
  • Seeking opportunities for MCIP/VAVE and profit improvement

Collaboration with Key Stakeholders - Internally & Externally

  • Engage Division/PBU technical and industry experts to provide solutions that address current and future customer requirements; internally - Engineering, SCM, Legal, etc.
  • Ability to gain comprehensive knowledge & experience with APTIV's Product Development Process and Operations (EOS)
  • Ability to be an effective business partner within a matrix, global organization; establishing credibility and trusted partnership within the Divisions & Functions
  • Divisional experience & business understanding to drive internal customer pipeline review - balancing customer current/future requests with current business conditions and investment priorities with bottom line growth/profit to meet annual sales plans
  • Identify potential / future product development / project opportunities including advanced development studies, share the potential opportunities with product line, sales manager and account director supporting customer(s).

Your background:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience and knowledge of sales in manufacturing or technology industry.
  • 2-3 years' experience in customer interface/customer relationship management, preferred.
  • Experience in Automotive Electronics or Automotive OEMs preferred.
  • Self-motivated and dependable individual who knows how to prioritize work and delivery quality and timely deliverables.
  • Decision making ability, with sound business acumen and clear understanding of the market and financial impact.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, oral and written, at all levels / internally and externally.
  • Structured thinker with data-driven & highly analytical; strong excel capability; ability to analyze data and draw recommendations / conclusions; capability to have an independent point of view; confident in presenting a point of view at all levels.
  • Ability to influence others without direct authority over them.
  • Poised when under pressure.
  • Respond quickly to opportunities and models enthusiasm and a can do attitude to the organization. Not afraid to take on bold challenges.
  • Build trust and adaptive to change.
  • Excellent language skills in German & English
