Job Summary

The Quality Systems Project Leader serves as the regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for quality systems (Q-SYS), leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management solutions. Based in Saltillo, MX, this role drives regional alignment, collaborates with global quality leaders, and ensures system requirements meet business needs while providing training and strategic oversight. Relocation support will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the regional SME and primary contact for Q-SYS, providing expert guidance and training new users to ensure effective adoption and utilization across the region.
  • Solution Development: Partner with IT development and implementation teams to capture and fulfill solution requirements, ensuring alignment with quality objectives.
  • Regional Template Leadership: Spearhead the creation and deployment of a standardized regional Q-SYS template, driving consistency and efficiency in quality processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps in existing systems and processes, implementing enhancements to optimize performance and compliance.
  • Resource Alignment: Coordinate plant, regional, and global business resources to support project goals, ensuring seamless integration of requirements and priorities.
  • Progress Reporting: Deliver regular management reports on the Quality Section's project status, escalating risks to deliverables in a timely manner to ensure transparency.
  • Gap Analysis: Maintain a thorough understanding of deficiencies in current solutions and processes, proposing actionable improvements to address them.
  • Global Collaboration: Work closely with quality leaders from other regions to share best practices, fostering a culture of knowledge exchange and standardization.
  • Project Oversight: Lead cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met, managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables effectively.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure Q-SYS aligns with industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and customer-specific requirements, supporting audit readiness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, to align quality initiatives with business objectives.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to quality systems, ensuring robust error-proofing and contingency plans.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Certifications like Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, PMP, or CQE are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in quality systems or project management, with experience in QMS platforms and regional project leadership, preferably in automotive or manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in quality management systems, project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira), and data analysis. Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and automotive quality standards.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to train diverse teams and present complex information to senior management.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of automotive quality processes, customer requirements (e.g., GM, Ford), and quality system integration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Q-SYS or similar quality management platforms in a regional or global context.
  • Multilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, English) for cross-regional collaboration and operations in Saltillo, MX.
  • Background in IT-quality system integration projects or automotive supplier quality management.
