Mechanical Lead Europe (EDS)

Your Role:
- Detailing new products in 3D CAD, creating drawings in 2D CAD, and checking external 2D drawings
- Supporting cost estimates by independently specifying design and materials
- Independently creating tolerance studies based on drawings
- Responsibility for the content of the Design FMEA
- Coordination meetings on the manufacturability of new developments (DFM)
- Independently creating PDP design reviews
- Technical support for Appl. Eng. During customer visits
- Support in defining the test plan for the validation of new developments
- Independent assembly tests of individual assemblies and design approval
- Placing orders, laboratory orders, sample requests, SLA creation, sample drawings, external drawing creation, etc.
- Independent approval of production tools with regard to part functionality
- Supplier agreements for material selection, purchased parts, etc.
- Support of the quality department with quality issues, definition of preventive quality measures for new developments
- Determination of tool costs and modification costs based on 3D models in collaboration with tooling
- Independent selection of materials to be used
Your Background:
- Design and manufacturing technical assistant with Technical College entrance qualification
- Minimum 18 years of experience in engineering, with a focus on mechanical design, development, and implementation
- Proven experience leading technical sourcing and creating requirements
- Excellent communication with ability to interact with suppliers engineering, sales and quality
- Proficiency in validation engineering management and customer alignment
- Proficiency in Excel usage for multiple applications
- World wide experience with country-specific grid cords for household purpose and industrial power plugs
- Several years of responsibility for the BOM of IC-CPDs
