Financial Analyst (Temporary Position)

Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of various records and analyses of financial reports, expense budgets/forecasts, and activities that require significant initiative. May make decisions within the general practices regarding the application of policies and procedures. Operates under only general supervision from the Plant Controller.
My Role:
- Consolidate and analyze financial data related to costs, expenses, inventories, budgets, forecasts, provisions, manufacturing income statements, etc., keeping in mind the importance of continually seeking positive results for the plant and organization.
- Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance financial outcomes.
- Collect, generate, and summarize data for the manufacturing income statement and balance sheet, as well as associated risks.
- Develop financial models and conduct benchmarking and process analysis, including demand, mix, volume analysis, and other relevant figures in the manufacturing report.
- Work collaboratively with the HR, PC&L (Production Control & Logistics), Quality, Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to monitor financial impact topics and/or cost or expense savings for the site.
- Conduct analyses of past, future, and comparative performance and develop forecasting models.
- Identify trends, advise the business, and recommend actions to a senior financial analyst based on solid analysis.
- Prepare reconciliations and transactions by comparing and correcting data.
- Prepare accounting entries and general provisions, including those related to excess and obsolete inventory, doubtful accounts provisions, and other relevant entries.
- Assist the Controller with cost analysis, profitability, production route and bill of materials analysis, as well as variances and their impact.
- Monitor construction-in-progress topics in coordination with the engineering and maintenance teams.
- Drive process improvement initiatives that impact the finance department.
- Collaborate with shared services departments (central area) and with internal and external audit teams. Understand and manage performance and internal control indicators.
- Has the authority to escalate to the leadership team and/or stop any situation, action, and/or condition that poses a risk to safety, health, or the environment.
