Category Strategic Buyer

As the Category Strategic Buyer, you will play a key role in Aptiv's Supply Chain Management organization. You will be creating and implementing strategy for the particular category, managing suppliers relationships, sourcing and Procurement processes. You will drive material cost improvement activities in areas of Price to Price, Global Sourcing and Localization which are instrumental to overall Aptiv success. YOUR ROLE

• Co-owns (with respective Category Manager) creation and regular updates of material category strategy for his/her portfolio
• Co-owns (with respective Category Manager) communication and alignment of category strategy for his/her portfolio with other functions and all stake holders
• Is responsible to execute defined strategy for his/her portfolio
• Negotiate all commercial terms with suppliers to drive year over year material cost improvement to meet/ exceed functional objectives. Consider quality, Service, technology, price and timing of needed products. Prepare negotiations for each key supplier. Build partnership with all key suppliers at senior supplier level.
• Make sourcing decision and recommendation to Regional and Global Sourcing Committee based on total landed cost and risk evaluation
• Create, issue and maintain frame contracts according to SCM policies and procedures
• Monitor market conditions for all cost drivers for his/ her category to adapt the respective purchasing strategy, anticipate repercussions for the business and generate performance or build and implement a mitigation plan
• Visit existing and new suppliers, review production process, gain deep knowledge of products and technology

YOUR BACKGROUND

• Master's Degree from commercial or/and technical university, mechanical/chemical/technical background preferred
• Fluent in English
• Minimum 4 years of purchasing experience
• Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and presentation making skills (Excel, Ppt)
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
• Highly motivated / capable of operating with minimal guidance
• Strategic planning and execution
