As a Strategic Category Buyer, you will join the technology company that's transforming the future of mobility today, inside the Product Business Unit - Aptiv Electrical Distribution Systems, raising and accomplishing several opportunities and challenges for our plants located all over EMEA. Being part of our international Supply Chain Management team located in Kraków and Paris, you will be tasked with establishing and executing the purchasing strategy of your portfolio. You will manage parts under your purview with assistance and backing from the Category Manager, within the framework of SCM business plan, and utilize your creativity to introduce new methods to enhance material performance and contribute to the SCM's overall results.

Your Role

• Assist the Category Manager in developing and executing the Connection Systems category strategy to create a competitive advantage for the Business Unit, ensuring both long-term business sustainability as well as annual performance objectives in line with Company targets.

• Manage a Portfolio of strategic suppliers for the network systems category and negotiate best terms and conditions including contracts negotiation, assistance management, improvement plan development, and execution, and drive year-over-year material cost improvement to meet/exceed category KPIs

• Foster and manage supplier relationships and cultivate effective supply chain partnerships

• Create, issue, and maintain frame contracts with the supplier base according to SCM policies and procedures. Ensure that the negotiated conditions are implemented on site. Consider quality, cost, delivery, technology, and timing of needed products.

• Monitor key market trends for all cost drivers of your category (raw material, labor cost, logistics and freight, currency, etc.) and anticipate the impact on your specific portfolio, generate performance or build and implement mitigation plans.

• Conduct continuous spend analysis, suppliers panel benchmarking, and optimization in line with your category strategy

• Lead category sourcing activities for the specific portfolio in line with program requirements and customer milestones

• Collaborate with Aptiv Electrical Distribution Systems EMEA plants in escalation in quality and delivery cost recovery claims negotiation

Your Background

• Bachelor or Master's Degree from commercial and/or technical university

• Previous Experience in Procurement and/or Purchasing. Experience in the Automotive Industry will be a key advantage

• Fluency in English both oral and written

• Proficient MS Office skills

• Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication skills

• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams located in various countries

• Strategic planning and execution thinking
