Job Summary:

The Lead Engineer, Development will design, develop, and implement new ideas and products for software applications and solutions. The Lead Engineer, Development will be accountable for anticipating and resolving problems that impact design of current or developing products. The Lead Engineer, Development will perform the research, design, definition, and implementation of the product software applications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead development team
  • Improve development and devops processes.
  • Improve team productivity
  • Perform release planning and user story mapping
  • Mentor juniors.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Working closely with other developers, product managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of new features.
  • Continuous Learning and Improvement: Staying abreast of the latest developments in ERP technology, particularly in the fresh produce sector, and applying this knowledge to enhance product offerings.
  • Development and testing of new software applications and solutions.
  • Builds and assembles prototype assimilations of software applications and solutions as directed.
  • Writes code, completes programming, and debugs software applications and solutions.
  • Deliver high quality software applications and solutions that are extensible and scalable within the specified timeline.
  • Perform critical code and design reviews.
  • Demonstrate creativity in identifying effective approaches to software and solution development process and promote opportunities for product innovation.
  • Identify product requirements and potential improvements and discuss them with the development team.
  • Participate in the complete software development life cycle from requirement gathering to deployment of the product.
  • Write and review documentation needed for installation, usage and maintenance of applications and solutions.
  • Interface with the professional services team, support team, and Customer/Partners to address issues in the production.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with co-workers.


Qualification:
  • Minimum Education: E/B.Tech/MCA
  • Minimum Experience and Skills: 6 to 9 years of software development experience in Java/.net Technologies [Need to learn on DB/C programming language post joining].


Technical skills:
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages commonly used in ERP development such as Java, C#, .NET, or Python.
  • Database Management Systems: Experience with relational databases like SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL, and an understanding of database design, implementation, and management.
  • Web Development Technologies: Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React, if the role involves web-based ERP solutions or interface development.
  • Cloud Platforms: Understanding of cloud services and platforms such AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, especially if the ERP solutions are cloud-based. And interest in furthering understanding of designs and best practices for cloud services .
  • API Development: Experience with RESTful API or SOAP for integration with other systems and applications.
  • Agile Development Practices: Knowledge of Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
  • Version Control Systems: Familiarity with version control tools like Git or SVN.
  • Good knowledge - DevOps methods and tools.
  • Good to have - Azure DevOps Pipeline.
  • Testing Tools: Familiarity with software testing tools and methodologies to ensure the reliability and quality of the developed features.


Other Skills:
  • ERP Specific Tools: Experience with ERP software development tools or platforms, particularly those related to the fresh produce industry, could be beneficial.
  • Nice to have - Exposure to the fresh produce or perishables industry.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively liaising between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good team player.
  • Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Adaptability and Learning Orientation : Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Mentoring and Coaching, Intercultural skills.
  • Ability to Work with Global Teams at different time zones.
