Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Test Engineer 5 to join one of our Core R&D teams. This role focuses on developing and deploying advanced test processes, fixtures, and electro-mechanical systems to support the automation of semiconductor manufacturing. You will work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment to drive innovation and ensure product excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a cross-functional R&D team to develop test processes, fixtures, and electro-mechanical equipment for automation.
- Prepare test and diagnostic programs; design test fixtures and equipment; complete specifications and procedures for new products in coordination with systems engineers.
- Establish and monitor process controls, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), and implement mistake-proofing techniques.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using methodologies such as 8D.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment with frequently shifting tasks and priorities.
- Take initiative and accountability to meet goals and deadlines.
- Deploy test processes into manufacturing environments.
- Operate and interface with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, vector network analyzers, and DC power supplies to evaluate RF and DC circuitry.
- Apply expertise in Design for Excellence (DFX), including design for assembly, test, and service.
- Define and implement test methods, processes, and tools to support new product development.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (BS EE/ME/IE).
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in RF, electrical, or electromechanical systems.
- Strong collaboration skills and a passion for testing and operations.
- Understanding of product safety and EMC compliance standards (e.g., TUV, UL, CSA, CE, CCC).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in a cross-functional team environment.
- Experience with problem-solving techniques related to manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to support new product introduction from prototype through production.
- Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing cost reduction initiatives.
- Ability to manage engineering change activities.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Willingness to travel ~ 10% domestically and internationally.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with high-power RF
- Experience with automated test systems and data acquisition tools.
- Knowledge of FMEA and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Product transfers to contract manufacturers
- Understanding of AI/ML applications in test and control systems is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with Python and Linux
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, Gage R&R, correlation analysis, and design of experiments (DOE).
- Experience in driving supplier corrective actions.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
