SAP S/4HANA ABAP & BTP Technical Architect/Leader

Position Overview:

This position provides architectural, technical, project leadership, and manages development teams involved in the migration of ECC suite to S/4Hana and BTP, supports continuous improvement of AMAT's ERP modernization business roadmap. Work includes partnering with internal IT & business domain stakeholders to determine the right technical solutions, architect, design, develop and deploy solutions on S/4HANA and BTP platforms, manage offshore development teams, provide oversight on the technical deliverables.

Principle responsibilities:

Technical Analysis, Design and Development: Analyze requirements and generate solutions to achieve objectives. Lead analysis to identify the best possible solution. Lead the distributed development teams to design and develop maintainable/extensible solutions and remediate identified security vulnerabilities. Assess risk and make plans to mitigate it. Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed regarding integration and the timing of releases. Track, measure, and report quality of technical deliverables. Lead Projects: Direct, instruct and guide SAP Technical team development efforts. Provide effort, schedule and progress reports to management, set team direction for each sprint, contribute to team sprint grooming, planning, reviews and retrospectives. Establish robust testing strategies. Technical Support: Identify and remediate the root causes of problems and incidents. Ensure support staff understand how software works so they can troubleshoot, test, document and train system changes. Manage Cross-functional Relationships: Build working relationships with business domain stakeholders, basis and security stakeholders sufficient to understand their vision, priorities, process/project roadmap to devise technical execution strategy. Collaborate as needed to understand functional and non-functional requirements and priorities. Train, Coach and Mentor: Provide training, coaching and mentorship to team members. Collaborate on best practices, delegate tasks and ensure quality standards are met. Manage Vendor Partner Relationships: Build working relationships with vendor partners and administration of large contingent workforce executing the SAP technical deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:

  • 15+ years of overall IT experience in SAP suite of applications in the software architecture, design, development, deployment and operations with at least four end to end S4 rollouts in technical leadership capacity in variety of ECC S4 transition scenarios (Brown, Blue, Greenfield)
  • Experience with custom code analysis, retirement, remediation during S/4 Hana system conversion in a brownfield scenario, devising and rolling out 3-tier development strategy to achieve a clean core.
  • Progressive experience in leading large SAP technical ECC and S4 teams comprising of ABAP, RAP, Fiori, Workflow, Embedded Analytics, Odata API developers delivering RICEWF objects on S/4Hana.
  • Hands on experience in building on-stack and side-by-side extensions and automations in S4 & BTP ABAP stack and integration suite.
  • Experience in developing and rolling out embedded analytics strategy, tools, methods in S/4Hana environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience in RAP, Fiori Elements, CDS in transactional processing and analytics scenarios.
  • Experience providing technical leadership for software development projects to plan and schedule larger efforts and provide work direction and guidance to others.
  • Excellent communication skills to partner with Business & IT stakeholders on business needs and functional requirements, describe the value of proposed solutions to business owners, and keep stakeholders informed about development efforts and solutions being implemented.
  • Software testing skills sufficient to assure that products meet business needs before promotion to the test environment.
  • Experience working in an agile, CI/CD environment with a geographically dispersed team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • SAP S4HANA and BTP developer and architect level Certifications
  • Other advanced information technology industry certifications.
  • Exposure to SAP CX suite of products, BTP CAPM will be an added advantage
