NPI Buyer
Key Responsibilities
The expense buyer plays a pivotal role on the frontline of NPI supply chain operations responsible for expeditious prototype procurement. Buyer primary objective is to provide tactical procurement support to R&D engineering teams to complete proof of concept of new design validation accelerating time to market. Solves a range of internal and external supplier problems varying in complexity in a fast-paced environment. Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Leads purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.
Leads problem resolution for material related accounting and receiving issues.

Develops methods of business simplification for the procurement function. Participates in the development of ISO documents for the purchasing function.
Manages activities of the purchasing group in the manager's absence. Manages projects for purchasing; as required, monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned projects. Oversees workload distribution among Buyers; trains and audits activities of lower level personnel.
